When to Sow Geranium Pink Improved Sweet Pea Seeds

September to April

Where to Sow

September and April sowings can be sown straight into the flowering site, 2cm (3/4") deep.
Later sowings can be made in 7.5cm pots, each with 5 seeds in.
October, November and March sowings should be kept in a cold frame.
January sowings in a heated glasshouse.

What to do Next

Glasshouse raised seedlings should be hardened off in March prior to planting out in early April. Plant out pot grown seedlings in the flowering site at 15cm (6") apart in April. Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm (4") apart. When the sweet pea plants have grown 3 pairs of true leaves, pinch out the tops to encourage side shoots to grow.

Maturity

Late June to September

Handy Tip

Provide sturdy support for plants as a mature plant will be heavy after rainfall.
