Where to Sow Cathy Wright Sweet Pea Seeds

September sowings can be sown direct in flowering site 2cm (3/4") deep. Later sowings can be sown into a 7.5cm deep pot, with 5 seeds in each. Keep October and November sowings in a cold frame. Keep January sowings in a heated glasshouse. March sowings in a cold frame. April sowings can be made direct to flowering site too.

What to do Next

Glasshouse raised seedlings should be hardened off during March. Plant out pot grown seedlings in the flowering site 15cm (6") apart in April. Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm (4") apart. Pick flowers regularly to encourage new growth.

Handy Tip

Provide sturdy support for plants as they can become heavy after rain.
