The best trailing petunia from seed. Stunning in hanging baskets, performing better than cutting raised surfinia petunias. Plants continue to produce flowers on top as well as bottom of the plant unlike surfinias. Can also be used for ground cover.

Where to Sow Rose Vein Velvet Petunias

Sow seed on the surface of good free draining seed compost and lightly cover with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or a warm place at a temperature of 20-25°C (68-77°F) until after germination which usually takes 10-21 days.

What to do Next

When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 15-30cm (6-12") apart, or plant into containers. Overwinter September sowings in a cold frame then plant out the following spring.
