Additional Details

When to Sow Winter Jewel F1 Cabbage Seeds

Sow June to August, and plant out July to September.

Harvest

April to June the following year.

Where to Sow

Sow seed thinly in a prepared seed bed in shallow drills 2cm (3/4") deep. Keep well-watered.

What to do Next

Thin the seedlings as they appear to 5cm (2in) apart. Once seedlings are 10-15cm (4-6in) tall, transplant to their final growing site spaced 35-40cm (14-16in) apart. Always set the young plants 1.5cm (1/2in) deeper than they were in the seed bed. Keep well-watered during hot dry spells.

Handy Tip

Feed plants in early spring with a high nitrogen feed to encourage growth. Pick regularly to prevent all cabbages cropping at the same time.
