WHEN TO SOW Late July to early September. WHERE TO SOW Sow th seed thinly in a well prepared seed bed in shallow drills 2cm deep. Keep well watered. WHAT TO DO NEXT Thin out the seedlings as they appear, to 5cm apart. When the seedlings are about 10-15cm tall, transplant to the growing site 35-40cm apart. Set the young plants 2cm deeper than they were in the seed bed. MATURITY Early April onwards. HANDY TIP The perfect variety to take the space previously used for early potatoes. Sow successionally to stagger the harvest. |
